A& J Golden Retrievers of Texas. Bred with Heart. Raised with Purpose.

Located south of Houston, A&J Golden Retrievers has placed beloved puppies with families throughout Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and beyond.

We are a BRED WITH HEART breeder committed to producing healthy, well-socialized Golden Retrievers and giving every puppy a strong foundation before they go home.

All of our breeding dogs are AKC registered and undergo health testing through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).

Our breeding dogs are tested and certified for:

  • Heart

  • Hips

  • Elbows

  • Eyes

To be included in our breeding program, OFA ratings must be Normal, Good, or Excellent, as applicable. All of our breeding dogs are also DNA tested through Paw Print Genetics. OFA records and available test results can be viewed through the links under our Our Dogs page.

We follow the Puppy Culture Program, which provides puppies with enrichment, structure, socialization, and experiences designed to give them a positive start in life.

Our puppies receive:

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

  • Early Scent Introduction (ESI)

  • Age-appropriate socialization

  • Desensitization and new experiences

  • Introduction to doggy door, crate and kennel training

  • Introduction to leash training

  • Introduction to potty training

  • Daily handling and interaction

Our puppies also have the unique opportunity to be introduced to a variety of people and environments.

As part of our socialization experiences, puppies are taken to our classes where they are exposed to special-needs young adults, veterans, and individuals in recovery in a supervised and positive environment.

We believe these experiences help puppies become confident, adaptable companions while giving them meaningful opportunities to interact with different people.

Our puppies go home with:

  • First age-appropriate vaccination, full examination, and fecal test. We do not remove dewclaws.

  • Deworming

  • Microchip

  • AKC registration application

  • Health guarantee

  • Small bag of their current food

  • Mom-scented item to help with the transition

  • ENS and ESI experiences

  • Introduction to potty, crate, and leash training

To reserve a puppy, we require:

1. Puppy Interest Form
2. Signed Puppy Contract
3. $500 Nonrefundable Deposit

The deposit is applied toward the total purchase price.

Deposits establish the order of selection within the chosen gender. Breeder has the right to reserve first pick. For example, the first deposit placed for a male puppy receives first selection of the available males, the second deposit receives second selection, and so forth.

Golden Retriever Puppies — $2,800 + applicable sales tax. The price is the same for male and female puppies.

Puppies are sold with Limited AKC Registration, meaning puppies are placed as family companions and are not sold with breeding rights.

We are proud of the time, care, health testing, socialization, and training we put into every puppy we raise.

We have professional references available upon request.
